I contacted Claire when my son needed help with A level Maths and she has been endlessly patient and encouraging. Claire has been able to explain topics clearly in a way that he can understand as well as going through lots of individual exam questions which has really clarified problem areas and this has been a huge boost to his confidence. The benefit of 1 to 1 tuition has been enormous – it has greatly improved his progress and he has enjoyed being taught by Claire in a calm environment where he has felt able to ask lots of questions. We cannot recommend Claire highly enough and her tuition has been worth every penny. Thank you Claire.

Claire was a great maths tutor for my daughter. We got in contact very close to exam time (GCSE) and she was very helpful in just getting straight to the areas that were unclear. She also kept in touch wanting to find out if my daughter was happy with her results which I thought very kind.

Claire successfully got my son through the new GCSE maths with patience and a sense of humour – without her help it really would have been a struggle. I felt I had done everything I could to help him pass and he is delighted to have passed and not to have to re-sit!

Our daughter Eliza’s predicted maths GCSE grade was a C – but she needed a B to have the choice of A levels she wanted, like Physics. But to get a B, she needed to apply herself, in the midst of being a teenager surrounded by distractions! Concern only grew as Eliza’s GCSE year progressed, but there’s only so much parents can do with a teenager, when relations can be strained anyway! Thankfully Claire agreed to help, her calm approach made for a very effective change of scene, away from sometimes strained parental relations, allowing focus on the maths. It really helped that Claire understood the specific syllabus, and the current ways of teaching maths (even long division is taught differently now!). She knew all the best resources. Claire was able to judge what areas in maths were best to focus on, building Eliza’s confidence. But also when to stop and consolidate in the final weeks! On results day, Eliza was in tears telling us over the phone – she did get a B. Had it been a C though, Claire’s help would still have been very worthwhile, as we would at least have felt we’d done everything we could – no regrets!

Claire has really helped our son with his A level Maths. She is an excellent tutor and was able to clarify what he was unable to understand at school. Her passion for the subject has really motivated him and coupled with her exceptional teaching skills enabled him to grow in confidence and ability. He really looks forward to the lessons, is enthused when he returns and his knowledge in the subject has soared. I highly recommend her. Thanks Claire!
